Zamboni driver wins first NHL game after being tapped as emergency goalie

When both goalies for the Carolina Hurricanes had to leave the game because of injuries, 42-year-old Zamboni driver, Dan Ayres was asked to be emergency goalie for the team. The team told Ayres to just have fun and not stress about the goals. Ayres blocked eight of the 10 shots on the goal, aiding the team in their 6–3 win.

Coronavirus prompts Italy to ban fans at all sporting events for at least a month

The Italian government announced that all sporting events will take place without fans present until April 3, due to the coronavirus outbreak. More than 100 people have died and more than 3,000 people have been infected with the virus in Italy. Schools and universities have also been ordered to close until March 15.

Vanessa Bryant files wrongful death suit after crash that killed Kobe and Gianna

Following the death of her husband and daughter, Vanessa Bryant filed a lawsuit against the company that owned the helicopter that killed them and seven other people. The lawsuit was filed shortly before the memorial service for Kobe and Gianna Bryant. The lawsuit alleges that the company put the helicopter in the air in unsafe conditions.
