Ever since the Colonial Pipeline running up and down the East Coast of the US was targeted by a ransomware hack last week, finding gas has become a difficult process. In some places like Lynchburg, most of the local gas stations were completely out of gas, while others only had Premium fuels.

The Pipeline has now resumed service and many areas have gas again, but shortages are still affecting some areas. These shortages strike at an unfortunate time for Liberty University students and many other students along the East Coast who are finishing finals and driving home for the summer.

It is unclear when the situation will be resolved, but Colonial Pipeline made a statement that “it will take several days for the product delivery supply chain to return to normal”.
